Join Art with Liz every week at the Library to learn about classic and contemporary artists, followed by a free art workshop. All materials are provided. This class is open to artists of any level, including beginners. All are welcome!
Art teacher, Liz Ndoye, will make October our “Return to Our Basics” month. Our theme will be to refresh ourselves. Ndoye wants to re-introduce life drawing. She believes that this will re-inspire our artistic enthusiasm and energy, and continue to build on our growing and improving observational and drawing skills.
In our class on, October 2, 2024, students will first look at the drawings of Leonardo Da Vinci. After some discussion of his life and work, Ndoye will talk about the basics of figure drawing. She will share hand outs that explain the proportions of the human body and demonstrate and teach the technique of gesture drawing. Students will then, while look at our live, clothed model, proceed to do their own gesture drawings - first in rapid quick poses and finally in longer poses as the class progresses.
This program will be held both in person and live on Zoom and YouTube.
Registration is required whether you are attending in person or online. Registration closes 15 minutes before each class. You will receive the Zoom link and password 15 minutes before the class begins.
