The artist we start off with this month, is Hank Willis Thomas. He is an American conceptual artist. Based in Brooklyn, New York, he works primarily with themes related to identity, history, and popular culture. Thomas has a series of hands and fists that he portrays in sculpture. We will take the opportunity of looking at his works to take time to practice our skills of drawing the human hand. Students frequently complain about how difficult the hand is to draw - so we will devote
the entire class to learning the tricks for making this task easier and fun.
This program will be held both in person and live on Zoom and YouTube.
Registration is required whether you are attending in person or online. Registration closes 15 minutes before each class. You will receive the Zoom link and password 15 minutes before the class begins.
