Join Dr. Cătălina Florina Florescu for an engaging in-person poetry reading and talk. Drawing from her latest collection, The Brain Is the Ocean We Live In, she will share poems that explore themes of loss, disability, love, and community. Blending a playful style with deeply personal reflection, her work offers a unique and immersive literary experience.
Dr. Cătălina Florina Florescu is a Romanian born American professor, author, and mother. She holds a PhD in Comparative Literature with a focus on Medical Humanities conferred by Purdue University. She teaches undergraduate courses at Pace University and graduate seminars at Stevens Institute. Her books are catalogued at the National Library of Medicine, the Library of Congress, New York Public Library, as well as at colleges on US and international campuses.
