Large Program RoomJoin Smriti from Culture Chauraha to celebrate AAPI Heritage Month and South Asian culture through the art of henna.
Rooted in traditions across India and beyond, henna (mehendi) has long been used to celebrate joy, beauty, and cultural expression. In this beginner-friendly workshop, participants will learn about the history of henna, as well as practicing simple designs while creating your own — on your hands or on paper.
All materials will be provided — including natural, skin-safe henna cones. Whether you're new or reconnecting with tradition, this session is a relaxing and creative way to celebrate heritage.
Adults and children (6 years and older) are welcome! Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Limited spots — RSVP required. Questions can be directed to laura.austria@hobokenlibrary.org.
