Need reliable phone service to stay connected with family, healthcare providers, employers, schools, and important community resources? Join us at the library for a Lifeline Phone Sign-Up Event in partnership with the City of Hoboken's Social Services team and the Library Social Worker.

Representatives will be available on-site to help eligible residents apply for the federal Lifeline program, which provides discounted or free phone service to qualifying individuals and families. Participants may be eligible to receive a free mobile phone with talk, text, and data service. A one-time $5 copay applies. Eligibility and final approval are determined during the application process at the event.

This event is designed to make the enrollment process as simple and accessible as possible. Staff will be available to answer questions, review eligibility requirements, assist with applications, and help participants understand the benefits available through the program.

Having access to a phone is often essential for scheduling medical appointments, communicating with schools, applying for jobs, receiving emergency notifications, accessing social services, and staying connected with loved ones. This event provides an opportunity for residents who qualify to gain access to these important communication tools.

Potential eligibility may include individuals who participate in certain government assistance programs or whose household income meets federal guidelines. Staff at the event will review qualifications and determine eligibility.

What to Bring:
• A valid photo ID
• Proof of participation in qualifying assistance programs (if applicable)
• Proof of address
• W2 or Social Security Income Verification Letter

Please note: A free phone and service are not guaranteed. Eligibility and approval are determined by program representatives at the event. A one-time $5 copay applies for approved participants.
