Main Library
Large Program RoomJoin Art with Liz every week at the Library to learn about classic and contemporary artists, followed by a free art workshop. In-person and live on Zoom & YouTube!
For our 4th class of the month, we will look at George Morrison. George Morrison was
an Ojibwe abstract painter and sculptor from Minnesota. His Ojibwe name was Wah Wah Teh
Go Nay Ga Bo (Standing In the Northern Lights). Morrison's work is associated with
the Abstract Expressionist movement in the United States. Between the 1940s through the
1960s, he worked and exhibited alongside Willem de Kooning, Franz Kline, and Jackson
Pollock, among other contemporary American artists in New York City. Students will create
their own abstractions in celebration of Morrison’s great unsung and under recognized works.
All are welcome!
This program will be held both in person and live on Zoom and YouTube.
Registration is required whether you are attending in person or online.
Registration closes 15 minutes before each class. You will receive the Zoom link and password 15 minutes before the class begins.
