Large Program RoomImmerse yourself in a meditative, hands-on experience through the technique of low-relief carving.
Immerse yourself in a meditative, hands-on sculptural experience as you carve beautiful motifs into a plaster surface. This workshop introduces you to the technique of low-relief carving — where forms gently emerge from a flat base—allowing you to experiment with depth, line, and texture.
You’ll learn how to handle molding tools, plan your composition, and carve with intention to bring out intricate details in your design. Whether inspired by nature or working intuitively, the process is both calming and creatively rewarding.
By the end, you’ll have a finished, tactile artwork that’s not only visually striking but also a meaningful piece to take home.
Registration required due to limited spots. Open to adults and seniors only. For questions or clarifications, email laura.austria@hobokenlibrary.org.
