Art with Liz: Lecture and Workshop
Wednesday, October 21
10:30am - 12:30pm
Join Art with Liz every week at the Library to learn about classic and contemporary artists, followed by a free art workshop. In-person and live on Zoom & YouTube!
*Special Note: Art with Liz will be held at a new location while the library is under construction. Classes will be held at Hoboken Library's Grand Street branch, located at 124 Grand Street, on the second floor, in the Health Department's program room.
Please follow the way finding signs once you enter the building. If you cannot make it in person, you can register to receive a zoom link so you can join remotely and or watch us on YouTube either on the same day or view the class video at your leisure.
For this class our focus artist will be Carmen Argote, a new, young Mexican American artist from Guadalajara who uses old pieces of fabric and
carpet to create stunningly beautiful installations. Her artwork combines the home and the immigrant experience through the use of
personal objects. Students will be encouraged to bring in old and odd bits of fabric and photos that evoke memories of their heritage
and ancestors. They will then be invited to make mixed media collages using the objects they have brought in.
This class is open to artists of any level, including beginners. All are welcome!
This program will be held both in person and live on Zoom and YouTube.
Registration is required whether you are attending in person or online. Registration closes 15 minutes before each class. You will receive the Zoom link and password 15 minutes before the class begins.
If you have any questions or have problems logging on, please email laura.knittel@hobokenlibrary.org.
